Looking for opinions regarding the Beta C mag from people who have used them.  Are they worth the money, and do the function well?  Also do they load easily, and does it hurt them to keep them loaded?

Thank you,

They load easily, they seem fine when left loaded for a long time (product literature says 'indefinitely' IIRC) and they are a bad deal if you divide dollars by capacity but kick-ass if you want 100 rounds w/o reloading and have the money to spend.
I like mine and I expect to get a couple more before the ban...err, I mean before 2008.

I've never used one, but I read here that the Army tried them out in afghanistan and it gave them trouble.  Probably fine for range use though.

I have had them and used them for range use only. They have a high cool factor but other than that....... I like the weight of three 30 rounders better and look how many new USGI mags with Magpul followers you can buy for that $225+. The weight is really a non factor as I run my duty gun with a Redi Mag but for the money I would just buy 30 rounders. I would not recommend the 90 round MWG magazine either. A friend had one that kept jamming up. He sent it back to the factory for a new feed tower which made the mag run 100% but still. You can keep the Beta loaded to full capacity indefinitely from my understanding (a good thing) but the MWG 90 rounder can only be loaded to 75 rounds for long term storage.

I bought mine right after the end of the ban. It has had a fairly good workout since I don't belive in safe queens. I have not had any issues with it at all. It has worked every time without fail.

I keep it loaded and with each loading I follow the directions and squirt some graphite in the tower and it loads and runs smooth. I use all type of ammo with zero issues.

I do not low crawl with it through sand/mud/snow/rain, I only use it at the range. It has survived one drop from the table to the floor when loaded (3 feet).

It is heavy at 6 pounds loaded, so I don't carry it all day on my waist when shooting.

I paid $250 for it in 2004, That is was the tax return is for. It may be better to have 30 round mags, but nothing is more fun than unloaded 100 at a time.

I feel that every member here should have at least one C-Mag in the closet; just becuase you CAN own one.

I like mine. Got it here used once in the EE for 180.00

I have used it about 10 times so far. Takes a few minutes to reload with the 10 or 5 round speed loader.

I like so I can sit my lazy butt down on the range table and shoot for a long time.

I would like to take it to a public range that allows full loaded mags (my club is private, no issues) just to sit next to some range snob with a bolt action wood gun "Yeah dude, I will be hear a while.."

I wouldnt use it any real world situation. There are many stories of them breaking when dropped, etc..

Range use private land use, sure. I am going to buy another before 2008 then sell it here on the EE for a profit after the next ban
