I know I shouldn't be complaining about recoil...it's an AR-15 for God's sake. However this is my problem. With my Colt I can rapid fire and keep a descent group. It's a KISS setup. It doesn't seem like much of a challenge to stay on target. However when shooting the Wilson...I have a hard time keeping it on target. I run an ACOG TA31 on my Wilson. So should I switch over to an EOTech on the Wilson...or is there something I can do to reduce the recoil in my Wilson. The Colt just seems smoother. Maybe I should just stick with irons...I dont' know. Do you guys think that if I switched over to an EOTech...it would help? Or would I be making a mistake by getting rid of the ACOG? As alway...Thanks. -MEI |

You're going to notice the recoil more with a telescopic sight like your ACOG more than you would with irons or a 1x sight (like the EOTech) - but the recoil is the same. If you're using a telestock (or similar) you can always go with a heavier buffer (like the H2), the PRI Fat Boy gas tube will also help, as would a decent muzzle brake. |

I'm running a H buffer with a standard gas tube. Too much work to install a new gas tube...since I don't have any tools. Maybe the buffer tube along with an EOTech is my answer. Any other suggestions? Could it be that i'm not holding the gun tight enough against my body? -MEI |
Gas tube is a very easy part to install. You just need a hammer and a 1/16" punch.
Like I said the EOtech won't change the issue - just how you perceive it.
I had *assumed* (my bad) that you were using an aggressive fighting stance. Use of a VFG (or mag well hold) and the proper technique will do alot more than the gadgets to control recoil. |
