| I'm giong to be pickin up a CMMG bbl today but I cant figure out what is the differences in a lightweight Vs. their standard profile bbl they told me the weight diff is only 6oz so what are the advantages of each? Does the heavier profile handle rapid fire better or worse? |

Heavier barrels handle rapid fire better. Which SPECIFIC barrels are you looking at? CMMG has a LOT of different profiles. The difference between Govt and Lightweight is all out front and will NOT make a difference in how it handles rapid fire. If you were looking at a Medium Contour, SPR Contour or M4A1 contour, then I would say that those barrels handle rapid fire better than Govt and Lightweight contours. If you know specifically which barrels you were talking about, I could tell you the differences in diameter as I have dimensioned drawings of most contours. |
I prefer the military style barrel, for looks more than anything else. The heavy barrels may handle rapid fire better, however the military style barrels seem to do okay with rapid fire in the sand box. I don't think that's an issue with civi rifles. All your preference, whatever you like, buy it ! They all have the same size hole down the middle
