| WHat are the main differences between these three manufactures- DPMS, Bushy, Model1 sales? Are they all the same, do they use better barrles, standard twist rates etc... |
|
People usually say Bushmaster is high quality, a lot of people will list DPMS as lower quality than Bushy (though I own DPMS products and have no problems), and Model 1 lower than DPMS. I don't have any technical information for you, those are just their reputations. |

Well some might think it's blasphemous, but I can't tell the difference. I have CONSIDERABLE experience with them all. I have owned 2 Bushies, 1 DPMS and 4 M-1s in the past few years. I have worked on 8 Bushies, about 6 DPMSs, and a LOT of M-1 Sales. (over 30-- from several gunshops I have worked for) The M-1s need to have a little attention. The gas carrier keys need to be staked better, and I like to "M-4" all the feed ramps on them. However, I cannot say that M-1s parts are of any less quality than anyone elses, and in fact, my most accurate 223 and my most accurate 6.8 are both from M-1. After I did the "M-4 job" on the feed ramps and staked the gas keys, they have been 100% reliable. I have had NO jams at all with them. In one 5.56 CAR I own, I have fired over 4,500 rounds so far, and in my 6.8 CAR I have fired over 2,000 rounds so far. No problems at all! |
