While loading my rifle today i kinda noticed that when the round is in the chamber and gets ejected its got a bunch of scractches from the bolt pushing it in i never really paid much attention to it but i got thinking and the question i have is will these scratches affect the trajectory of the bullet; after the round fly's a couple hundred feet will it deviate a bit from the target because the bullet isn't smooth?

Unless the bullet's deformed or something I wouldn't worry about it too much.
After all, what do you think the rifling in the barrel does to the bullet?

Normal.  Don't worry about it.

Makes it nice and strong to hit the target

I think I read that if it does affect the trajectory (probably minutely, if at all), then it affects every round the same way and once you zero it, it won't matter.  Seems logical, at least.

Are you talking about ejecting the live round and it has scratches on the sides of the bullet itself? If so, your barrel extension locking lugs are the culprit.

YEs, deformities in the bullet's external surface can effect the way it flies. How much I can't say, but it's going to have some effect. It isn't like the odd charecteristic of a barrel, as each bullet will be slightly different before it's even fully chambered.
