I know it effects functioning...the rifle runs fine with the set-up below. I have a 6.8 upper that I am running on a rifle length lower I have set up with a very good trigger that I shoot in compitition. This lower also a lightened buffer that I run in the comp gun with a JP Stainless tactical carrier. I run the same carrier in the 6.8, but I am wondering if the lightened buffer is affecting the accuracy of the upper by allowing the action to open too soon. It shoots a little over an inch at 100 at best with everything I feed it so far, but some factory stuff is going 2 inches... Opinions? B |

It shouldn't effect accuracy at all. If used only with your JP carrier it should run fine. If run with a full weight AR/M16 carrier you would likely get bolt bounce. I tried a lightened carrier (JP) in my 20" 3gun rifle and couldn't get it to run right, so now I'm running they're full weight stainless carrier with a LW Advanced Combat Bolt. |
