For my 556 post I want to thank Jay at Daniel Defense for his help in correcting my mistake.

A little over a week ago I was re-installing my M4 12.0 rail and spaced out, remembered the torque settings for another free-float handguard, and went way beyond 32 ft-lbs (I was shooting for 60 - 80 ft-lbs).  Well, as most of you have guessed, my barrel nut decided that was a little more than what it wanted to absorb, so it broke and impacted into the threaded ring damaging both parts.

The next day I sent an e-mail to Jay asking if I could purchase replacements.  His response was to get my address and ship me the necessary parts free of charge, all I had to do was send him my damaged parts.

I received the parts earlier this week, and now my rifle is back up and running.

Thank you Jay and Daniel Defense for the excellent customer service!

Thanks TS, I'm happy with it.

Yes, I am absolutely impressed by how well I was taken care of , especially for something that was entirely my fault.

Bravo DD!

CS is a HUGE factor for any and all of my purchasing decisions.  My next rifle will wear a DD 9.0 LITE rail.

I'll chime in and say that not only has Daniel Defense support always been good for me (even with odd questions and requests), but the new DD 9.5 lite rail rocks as well.

For some odd reason I wish DD would do a >12.0 Lite rail......

A DD 12.0 Lite Rail?  Like this?

AR15_Fanatic,

Can we get a pic of that weapon with the ACOG mounted?

DD is a top notch company.

A few years ago when I was looking for one of their Large Hole Uppers and they had none, Marty sold me not one but two of his personal large hole uppers that he had stashed away for himself.

Now that is customer service above and beyond the call!

Stick, what's the bbl length on the rifle in the top pic?

Its a 16" WOA.

AR15_Fanatic-  Sorry for the hijack, it wasn't intentional.  If you want me to pull those pics IM me.

Stickman is my hero.  If I had a larger cashflow (7.25 an hour barely buys ammo and gas to the range) I'd throw Stickman a large cash bribe to build my rifles and take wicked cool photographs of them.

NICE!

But....I think I need to explain my initial post better, or go back and highlight the > (greater than symbol).  I'm interested in a rail that is longer than a 12.0.  I'm a fan of Larue, but competition is a good thing in my book.

AR15_Fanatic,

I'm not usually a huge bipod fanatic, but I really like that carbine.  I've got a similar project in mind for my next build.

How else am I going to make it front heavy?
The bipod is nice for shooting at the range, but not a whole lot more.  That's why it's quick release.

It makes sense with the quick release, thanks.
