Recently bought a RRA Entry Tactical W/o chrome lined barrel. Curious of others have found the unlined barrel to function well or if they had to do it over again would they get the Chrome lined barrel and chamber?

A lot of people prefer the Chrome lined for durability, ease of maintenance and added reliability.

Welcome to the forums, in my opinion chromelined is the way to go.  Most will agree with me, some won't.

I wouldn't consider another AR without a chrome lined barrel.  Only my first one wasn't.

All my ARs are chrome lined, but if you aren't going to be dropped into the everglades  to fight off hordes of attackers with no chance to clean the AR for months on end I bet you will be just fine.

A guy who is pretty knowledgeable about ARs told me once that AR15.com was responsible for two things that he disagreed with- convincing civilian shooters they needed forged, not cast, lowers and that they had to have chrome lined barrels.

After you shoot 10-20k rounds through the RRA barrel it will be time to put a nice chrome lined LMT on there, so get out to the range and get working on it!

The Voice Of Reason in a sea of "gotta have my 1/7 chrome lined".

Agree 100%.

I have some of each chromemoly unlined, chromelined, and stainless.

I clean them all the same... 1 soppy wet patch and let soak while I do the lowers (which is usually just brush out any powder particles and relube).  6 strokes with a brush.  Chamber brush on the end of pc of cleaning rod chucked in an electric drill, about 3 seconds of that.  4 dry patches.  Qtip to get any dregs in the lugs.  Done.  I can do half a dozen AR's in 20 minutes assembly line fashion.

I don't get "easier to clean"... I do them all the same.

You gotta clean the barrel??? CRAP!

You just reminded me of something.  My 1st AR (the 1 I shoot the most by far) has a SS barrel, an OLY upper w/ the black phosphate finish.  Nice shooter, approx 8-10K rounds so far thru it.  I must admit that I have been very lax in the past on occasion as far as cleaning is concerned.

While I admit it borders on "Gun Abuse" (AARGH, Call GPS (Gun protective service)) I have not noticed any ill affect to the rifle.  Still groups nicely and runs like a top.
