Actually, second one. I had a Colt Sporter shorty back in mid-80's for a short time and sold it for the price I paid for it ($300, I was young and foolish). Ever since I'd been wanting to get another one but never made it a priority. About six months back I decided I should get serious about getting one soon so started saving up, hate credit cards, and lurking here. A month ago I put a Colt 6520 on layaway at a local shop. After more reading (on this site) I decide I should be getting a flat top. Went back to the shop today, talked to one of the guys working there and he shows me a Bushmaster then a complete LMT. I remember reading a little about LMT parts on here and also remember only good things said about them. After wiping the drool off I plunk the balance for the LMT and walk out the store with it. I get home today and my can of 720 rounds of Radway green SS109 and 3 C Products 30 round mags are waiting for me (from Aim Surplus). Planning on some range time this weekend. I seem to recall the guy saying it was assembled there. After I saw it I lost my hearing for a little there. I didn't ask many questions, just put out the money. I'll call them tomorrow and ask. It came with 2 little yellow cards that check off what was done to it. One says on top Lower Receiver and the other says Upper Half Assembly Thanks for the comments! |

Awesome rifle! You did good! I like supporting the local shops around here too, but unfortunately, they really only carry Bushmaster. Not that Bushy is bad, I have a Bushmaster lower on one of my AR's, but I would really like to see some other brands on the shelf. |
Just verified with my local gun shop, my rifle is direct from LMT sold to them as a whole rifle!! |

HEY!!! He got the gun from us over here at the Gun Gallery . LMT does not sell us complete rifles unless we provide them with documentation showing active mil or LE. However, we buy complete uppers and complete lowers from there fairly regularly. Its not often we have complete lLMT lowers and uppers in at the same time, but this week we did. We had just gotten our Shot Show order of several LMT lowers and all of them (except one) sold in about two days. The same day we got in an LMT upper, with more rear sights. So I took the last lower and put it with the upper and a sight. Everything on the gun is LMT except the magazine. It's a Bushmaster teflon mag with magpul follower and ranger plate. I dont know who you spoke to when they sold it to you, and not all the guys in the shop may be aware of the specific particulars. I was the guy who spoke to you on the phone the first day you called, and then again when you came in and put the Colt on layaway. I saw you when you came again yesterday, but was swamped all day yesterday with working on people's AR's. Im sorry I didnt get a chance to speak with you again. Enjoy you're gun, its all LMT, and with the exception of pushing the take down pins into the upper, it was all assembled at LMT. |
Thanks KB ... Was going to thank him for the advance notice that my cop sniper pals in his AO may have to go to work. Back to the regularly scheduled program. BTW ... Got 2 LMTs on the way myself ... nice rifle indeed pal. |

No problem, and welcome to the site! I see you're new to the site. Get that LMT out there with us on the last Sunday of the month over at FDCC |
You verfied w/me, the <----------- @ the shop.
It twas me. I must admit, im a newb at the shop. I was a little rushed during the phone call, a gentleman was coming out of the range with a gun that I wasn't sure if it was clear or not, so I had my eyes on the this gun during the conversation. I apologize. I knew LMT had certain restrictions about shipping complete rifles, but i have talked to New-Arguy many atimes about this and he told me a while back that LMT told him that they do not care if we assemble these rifles from complete lowers and uppers sent to us, and sell them. So, hence my short answer of yes it came shipped complete. I apologize for any conveinance, and next time you come in...box of rounds on me! Best DSC |
Don't we have policies about potheads or fans of "Da Chronic" around here?? |
More Gun Gallery guys here hock.gif I knew there was a reason I liked that shop! I still have to pick up a rifle case . . and box of rounds now, THANKS!! |
I plan on dropping by this week to get a case and a cleaning kit! Went to the range (Gateway) today and shot 300 rounds. It's a smooth shooting gun! Not one problem. No duds so far in the Radway Green and rifle just kept shooting. A guy a few stalls from me came over and we talked about our guns, he had some elephant gun with a huge scope, and I let him try my rifle. He was impressed. I used a 100 yard sight in target at 50 yards and got every shot in the black (about 6" circle). I tried it at 100 yards but only got 2 rounds in the black out of 30. All the rest were in the circles though. All with irons! I like!! |
