Any one make them besides Sun Devil? Anyone know the weight of the Sun Devil lower? Any comments/concerns on the Sun Devil lower from anyone that has used them?

Thanks in advance!

Socom Manufacturing's Diamond receivers are billet, and JP Rifle's CTR-02 are billet as well.

The Sun Devil receivers are cut really well and look really nice.  They'll accept standard AR-15 parts without problems.  As for strength, some people won't touch them because they're not forged, but I think the quality is fine, and probably less prone to flaws that a casting could have.

Are Bullit lowers weaker than a forged lower?

SOCOM is out of buisness. ATF problems. Midway no longer carries them out of stock. JP or sundevil, there is a titanium lower available as well. Serch the web I found it in about 10 minutes but I can't remember if it's billit or forged.

I have a SunDevil lower and it's awesome or a lower.  POF also makes a billet lower now.

The only lower I have seen that was made from a billet nearly equal to the 7075T6 forged lowers was the second run of Socom lowers that were made from Fortal aluminum. I have been waiting for them to show up for sale somewhere again but have not. I sold mine and was going to replace it. Still waiting.

They were the first type. Not the same type billet material as the second ones. I believe someone bought all the second ones out except a few and I have not seen them up for sell yet.

POF uses forged receivers made for them by Mega Machine Shop.

I also asked about the billet lowers some time ago. I got a very detailed technical explanation from someone as to why the forged lowers are actually stronger (something about molecule alighnment) than the billet lowers. My understanding is that the only advantage of the billet lowers is that they have cleaner lines (more aesthetically pleasing). But you pay a hefty premium for that.

Thanks for clearing that up.

POF just moved from forged to billet.  There was a thread here within the last two days.
