I picked up a rifle locally, at a great price, but the guy painted it with Krylon OD, black and brown. Would using regular paint remover hurt the original finish ? Is so, what would you all suggest. Thanks.

I used strike hold solvent and a scuff pad, then a red rag to get mine off. I know others have used chemical strippers but not sure what kind. Maybe ask in the refinishing forum.

Goof off works great. You can get it at any hardware type store.

I have used brake fluid (like in cars) with a scuff pad to remove Krylon from issued rifles.  It's a dirty job, but the fluid works well.

Mineral spirits works great.

Try carb cleaner. Gets kind of messey though.

You may want to check the refinishing forum, methods of removing krylon have been covered there a few times.

Its not that hard, and you should be able to get it all off without much trouble.
