It started innocently enough: while at a gun show a couple of months ago, quite unintentionally, I bought this: http://i3.tinypic.com/15d712b.jpg your basic, run of the mill, M4 (by DoubleStar). It wasn't a great deal, but it wasn't too bad, and they let me put it on a credit card. Hurricane season was starting, and I wanted something a bit, um..., bigger than the DP51 in case SHTF again. The AR sat in a corner for a month or so because I've been really busy, but then I decided I'd get a few things for it (like a sighth.gif): http://i5.tinypic.com/15d7y3q.jpg A couple hundred bucks later, I have more stuff... but no rear sight, which I figure would be kinda useful if I wanted to shoot at something hthttp://i5.tinypic.com/15d8iok.jpg and a laser http://i5.tinypic.com/15dapog.jpg The sight was cheap (the aimshot wasn't so cheap), but I figure that the gun is mainly for home defense, so the chances of me actually needing to use the sight would be slim, except for at the range. Last weekend was the gun show, so I went even though I didn't need anything. There wasn't anything interesting (except the ruger mini-14 bullpup with a silencer), but I did find a guy selling Essential Arms stripped lowers, so I bought one (along with a DPMS parts kit), mainly because I felt I needed to support my local economy (seriously http://i5.tinypic.com/15d9hee.jpg It only took a couple of hours, and considering this is my first attempt at building a gun, I think I did a passible job. Meanwhile, my parents moved up to North Carolina after the storm, and they need something small and light to keep around the house to deal with little (and maybe not so little) critters. My mom is kinda small, but I figure even she can handle a Carbon 15, so I bought one http://i4.tinypic.com/15d9yq8.jpg and plan to take it up to them in a month or so. A couple of days ago, while browsing the forum, I came across this killer deal on a M17S, and I've always wanted a bullpup, so I figured "what the heck" http://i3.tinypic.com/15d9s2c.jpg Today, I had to buy one of these http://i4.tinypic.com/15daqt2.jpg (it was cheap) because I bought this http://i4.tinypic.com/15dass1.jpg because... um... ah... I actually have absolutely NO idea why I bought the Mini-14 his hortly... |
With the exception of the AR, most of this happened within the last week: I bought the receiver sunday, the carbon 15 monday, the M17S wednesday, and the mini-14 thursdayhatmuch better now <twitch>; I haven't had the urge to buy a gun since I woke up <twitch>have |
The ad was a bit unclear as to wether it was a short or mid length hanguard, but I'm ok with it. At some point in the madness I ordered a low profile gas block to go under the handguard, and a barrel mount quad rail in case I decide to mount BUISs later. And anyway, it's not like it hasn't been done before: www.adcofirearms.com/test/sbr/uteshorty.jpg img.photobucket.com/albums/v408/gotm4/184e060d.jpg http://globaltactical.com/_img.upload/IMP%206.8%20SPC%20RIGHT%20SIDE.jpg |
$1100. Apparently NBC_LT is in a bit of hot water with the old lady for buying an FS2000, so he put the M17S on the markethug.gif (link to ar15.com ad). I've heard good and bad things about the M17S, but you can say that for just about any gun. I figure I'm buying it because I want it, and don't have any expectations one way or the other, so I'll be happy with it no matter what. |
OK, if BRD is mutating and spreading does it cause BRD zombification? If so, do you have to shoot yourself in the head? |
