Last year I bought a new bushy m4 and have been having FTE issues for as long as I have had it. Sometimes it would go 500 rds with out issues but sometimes while out on the range I'd get multiple FTE and stuck casings. I use wolf and before the Wolf basheres show up I want to say if I pay a shit ton of cash for a rifle it better be reliable no matter what kind of ammo I use and Bushmaster backed me 100% on that thought. Well I had tried everything from swapping bolts and carriers, to installing a D-fender ring and even trying different buffers and springs with no solution. So I called Bushmaster last month and explained the problem. They immediately sent me a UPS packing slip and told me to return the upper for work. Within 2 weeks I got it back with an order stating they replaced the bolt carrier, reamed and polished the chamber and repolished the feedramps, and also installed an extractor o-ring. Well 320 rds later I got a stuck case that I was unable to remove, it was stuck. So I again contacted bushmaster and they again sent a UPS prepaid packing slip and I returned the upper. I spoke to Leon in the gunsmith dept and he was very accomodating and curtiouse. I just got it back the other day within 2 weeks of sending it out! This time they went ahead and replaced barrel. So I took it out the other day and did not have one hickup the whole time at the range

They covered everthing under warrenty even though it has been  awhile since the warranty ran out and I never sent in my registration card. Bushmaster stands by there products!
Even though the co changed hands recently apparently the customer service is staying the course.

I'll have to agree something sounds very wrong with that.

Thats the same thing I thought but hey I'm not the bushmaster gun smith. Thats what the work order said reamed and polished the camber. Maybe they ment honed or somthing I know there isn't too much you can do with chrome. Unless they were just blowing smoke.

I really don't care what they did I'm just happy to have a reliable rifle now.

I'm really happy for you that all is well, they paid for the shipping on both return trips, and you finally got a functional product. BUT, wouldn't it be a far better thing if that QA dept. kept up with the customer service boys?

Yes, and no.  I'd rather they were turning those little jewels out by the truck load so damn fast that the the QC dept. can't keep up as the company holds the line price-wise for as long as possible concerning the ever increasing price of raw materials.  (IIRC, they just had a price increase)

It would seem to me that the only way to lessen the likely occurance of a warranty issue would probably be for BFI to hire enough manpower in the QC dept to run shifts 24-7.  (Perhaps that's the case anyway)  To do so, would require a price increase.  On the opposite side of things, the QC dept. could slow down the works and ensure proper or total testing of every little piece on the AR which would seem to meet some folk's interpretation of a quality product. This would not only slow production down, but probably result in a price increase of the product as well.  Only one method works to ensure the profileration of small arms... WHICH IS A GOOD THING IMHO.

As long as BFI's quality remains high enough to meet the bar and they come through concerning the occasional warranty issue that pops up- that's good enough for me & I'll support the company as being the common man's right arm.  You're talking about a company that produces 30K+ ARs a year.  That's one hell of a pile to get things right 100% of the time. YMMV.

So the problem all along was an oversized gas port.

I had simular issues with a preban Eagle Arms.

What
I said nothing about the gas port. I was not told the exact problem but believe it to be a chamber imperfection.

Oh also I reread the original work order and it said reamed the bore, and polished the chamber and feed ramps. I had alot of built up fouling at the muzzle in the FS.
