My ar has an A1 upper receiver with an M4 barrel(F marked front sight base). It shoots low with the front sight post in the all the way down position.  Is there a front sight post that would work better than the one that came with the barrel?

Thanks for any help on this.

If that happened to me, I would just carefully file the post down squarely about 1/16" and attempt another re-zero.  Then I'd touch up the tip of the post with some flat black krylon when I was finished.

Not sure if this would apply to your case, but  Bushmaster sells a "short" front sight post.   I think itt's  about 0.040" shorter.  It's in their standard catalog.
