I have a detachable carry handle marked A-9 (I think that's a Colt), but the manufacturer doesn't really matter.  I took it apart for a refinish since it had seen a lot of action in the sandbox and the finish was pretty much gone, but upon disassembly I noticed there was no rear sight elevation spring.  When I've dismantled A2 receivers before, that spring is present.  Is the elevation spring only found in normal A2 receivers or should there be one in my detachable carry handle too?  MJD

Well according to this .pdf posted by bob332, the spring should be present.

Thanks, that helped a whole lot.  The only other question I have is, do I use a regular A2 elevation spring or is there a special spring for the carry handle?  MJD
