After several hours crawling around the floor last night looking for a spring making a break for freedom, I have decided its time to get some spares.  So, where is the best place to purchase a good kit of replacement springs ( maybe multiple ones of the more freedom loving?)

Cheaper Than Dirt has a spring kit -- all springs in your rifle except for buffer spring -- for $7.50. And it has a pin/detente kit for same price with more crap in it than I knew the rifle had in it. Also about $7.50. I bought both, figure a $15 investment is better than a trip to the gunsmith. CDT also has trigger part kits, extra firing pins.

Some more expensive spring kits will also include a buffer spring if you tell them what kind of rifle/stock you have.

But then again you can also get all these little kits at Brownell's and Bushmaster and DPMS and RRA, et al. Easy to find on the Web.

I've been told not to bother with the titanium firing pin, not worth the $35 or more. A backup $7.50 original style will do fine.

Wolff Gun Springs are the best replacement springs I have ever used.
made a "tired" M1 Carbine work like new.
