I just noticed on my Bushy M4A2 Type that has the Izzy Flash Suppressor that theres a gap between the the Suppressor and the Barrel on the inside.

No camera to take pics so I'll try to describe what I mean. Looking into the flash suppressor it looks like it was never drilled all the way through. The suppressors on tight to the barrel on the outside between the suppressor and washer and barrel and pinned in place and spot welded over the pin. So all looks well on the outside.

Inside the Izzy flash suppressor theres a ring of steel in the suppressor that sits maybe 1/8" if that much (guessing on distance) from the barrel crown creating a "ring" of steel with a hole that looks to be a little larger than the bore diameter.
So theres a void between the end of the barrel and the "ring of steel"  thats in the Izzy.

Ok is that normal for Izzy Flash Suppressors? And if not is there any reason for concern?
I've shot about 300rds. thru it and everything seems fine and dandy, it shoots good and is accurate.

I would have thought it would have been drilled all the way thru and no "ring" but I've never looked at another one nor do I know where to go to look at another to see if thats just the way they are made or not.

Yes thats a better way of saying what I was meaning. No it doesn't sit right up against the muzzle.

Thanks!

Send it to ADCO and have it removed and have a Vortex or Phantom put on for no other reason than the izzy sucks!
Shoot some XM193 out of it and you will see a big fireball!

+1 on the izzy being a poor flash hider.
