Just curious about how well you all can shoot with EOtech sights at 50, 100, and 150 yards?
I know it is more for fast and close, but would like to hear from some of you on longer shooting with the EOtech.
Thanks, Pete

I don't really shot for groups with my Eotech, but at 50 it's about a 2" hole, and at 100 meters it's about a 4" hole.  That's just shooting off the ammo can and my elbows, sitting supported or standing un supported.  Clay pigeons don't last long at 100 meters.

The EOTech is a battle sight, if your looking for shot placment i.e groups buy a scope.

The center of the reticule is a 1 MOA dot, so it can be very precise.  You can adjust the brightness levels to get a faint crisp dot to match the ambient light.

You should try 600yds

If you are zeroing, or shooting for groups, crank the sight down to the dimmest level at which you can still see the dot.  This will decrease the "bloom" that you get at higher settings that makes the dot effectively bigger.

For speed shooting, set it at the dimmest level you can pick up quickly.

As was said, the interior dot is 1 MOA.  You should be able to shoot it as well as or better than any other non magnified system.

I could easily make head shots at 100m. For my old eyes that was pretty good!

I was trying to sight my first EOTech week before last after always using a scope. I didn't get finished as the gun malfunctioned.
The targets were in the shade and I had a little sun in my face. It was really difficult getting anything tight at 100 yards. I pulled out my varminter and blasted groups under 3/4 inch.
For me the EOTech will just be a close up weapon for most puposes.
Living targets aren't usually going to stand around in the sun and expose their whole body etc. I find I am much better at target acquisition with a scope beyond about 50 yards. Try picking up targets around your house etc and see how fast you are.

Never used an EoTech (heresy I know), but I have difficulty shooting tight groups with any reflex sight.  That's just not what they're built for (quick target acquisition).  Now if you want to put 10 shots in the black at 50 yards fast it's the right tool for the job.

For me, no crosshairs (or irons) makes it tough to get a consistently precise sight picture, but that could just be me.

Can get consistent hits on a 6" metal disc with a 16" Bushie Patrolman and Eotech 552 at 200 yards.....Winchester White Box.  (I'm zeroed at 200)

Can hit a 10" plate at 300 with some regularity with proper amount of (slight) holdover.

Never measured my groups at 100 yards, but I would guess them at 10 shots within the size of a baseball.

EDIT with tip.....keep the brightness setting as LOW as possible for conditions.  Keeps the dot small and more precise.

No problems with 2-3" at 100 yards.  A lot of times I will flip up the BUIS and cowitness-it makes it more precise.

I do the same on anything past 50 yrds  Or head shots on turkeys When they don't come within shotgun range

I had an Eotech on a FAL..  consistantly hit a 8" disc at 300 yards.

I can shoot 1.5-2 inch groups with my Aimpoint and 10.5" LMT all day long should be the same for Eotech...just havent tried it.

A stated before..use the lowest setting possible for precision..You will just barely be able to see the reticle

I forgot to mention.  I shoot better (tighter groups) with my irons.  I can hold 2.5" groups at 100 meters (I'd say that's average).  So if your shooting for groups, I'd try your irons, or get a scope.

my LMT 14.5M4 and 551 eats the 10 ring  hole of a small bore 50 yard target @ 50 yards!

Its easy for me to hit tin can s at 220yards
