There is some play between the upper and lower halfs of my hand sheild. It shifts side to side a little. Is this normal? If not how do I make it more solid?

Its normal,to tighten it you replace with a free float or a two piece like MI or SF M73 which I have and like a lot.



I also have a YHM light weight F/F that's very nice which I sent to them to assemble (35.00 labor)




There are a lot of much more expensive options,Larue,DD,ect...

I’ve had HG’s that were loose. My fix was to lay a thin strip of inner tube inside between the HG cap and the HG. This tightened up the HG’s, excess inner tube that sticks out can be trimmed with a razor blade, and since the inner tube is black it’s not even noticeable unless you were to look really hard.
