What is your favorite AR? SHow me some pics! Interested to read reasons why people consider one better than the other.

Personal preference: RRA (I own one, kinda why they are my preference), here is mine.

This is a home build, though not a great pic., this is my RRA Entry Tactical Carbine. Along side it is my Kimber 1911.

Bushmaster Patrolmens Carbine is my personal fav right now but as time passes I see myself turning into an LMT fan, never thought in a million years I would say such a thing, I may be wrong.

I love Carbines..A2 no flat tops although eventualy I know Im gonna have to have one.

Bushmaster because they got a cobra engraved on the side.

I strongly prefer the Colt M16A2

But in its place, I'm a big fan of my home built rifle, built around Denny's Recon Barrel. Hasn't let me down for 600ish hard rounds.

My favorite , and the rifle I would grab over all the others I personally own, (A2's and  M4's ) is my Colt AR15A1 . Old school and  simple. Got to love it. Wardawg

This is my Favorite out of seven AR's. Simple, light and a very nice shooting rifle. Also this was a cheap M1 Sales upper.

My next build will be an A1 OR A2 upper lightweight.

My boy started this thread so I thought I would pull a couple of others out of the safe. Personally I prefer the Colts but we built him a RRA that has been flawless so far. We did the refinish job in OD. I was'nt sure how it would turn out...I think it looked pretty good after we finished it.

My favorite AR that I own varies in different situations, for SHTF my 6721 with Denny's Guns Operator mid length mid weight barrel is my top choice.

My backup choice is my LMT Defender 2000 and a couple of Colt Gov't 1911 little friends.

When I just want to go out plinking my Colt M16A2 upper with Match Target HBAR A2 lower and RRA 9mm carbines are my favorites.

I like my Bushmaster "wannabe M4" It is my first AR, and I love it. It hasn't jammed yet, fits me well, and pretty darn accurate for irons.

Colt, the only one I have shot, at drill. It was pretty sweet. only malfunction was traced to magazine being in severe need of a rebuild, like NOW.

The Colts are awesome. That doesnt mean the others arent as goodl, Im just endeared to the Colts because when it sank in "holy CRAP, there are going to be people trying to KILL me and this is the only method I have of actively stopping them" I saw the Colt logo on the receiver. Colt, Colt Colt. Im getting  a 6550 when I have the $$$$$

Favorite company, or favorite brand of gun?

My favorite guns would have to be Colts, especially Colt Defense (lnot in the poll, unfortunately), but Bushmaster is probably my favorite company, because of their customer-friendly attitute, great website, they go to great lengths to make sure all sorts of parts are available, etc.

My two favorite ARs are both Colts, a 6721 and a LEO AR-15A2 flat-top HBAR.
The former has an EOTECH, the latter an ACOG.

My "truck gun" is a very old DPMS carbine.

My homebult guns are all built up with Colt barrel and bolt, Bushmaster everything else.

But for absolute quality, Colt Defense is head and shoulders above the others.

I voted RRA. I have 2 SBRs that are built on RRA lowers and they seem to have the best overall finished product. I have owned DPMS, Bushmasters and have fingered several Colts.

I'm partial to Colt and LMT.  RRA is the best bang for the buck IMO.  Bushmaster has also been good to me but RRA was cheaper with the same results.

The snake on my BM actually looks like a rattlesnake.

My favorite would be my first build: Stag/CMT lower/upper with a BM barrel.

Yes, Colt is, or was a huge AR-15 manufacturer. In fact they were one of the first, maybe the first, dont remember exactly. The company recently "sold out". This is a firs time I have EVER seen anyone ask this question.... I think Colt is the best in the AR-15 world as far as quality and investment goes. But as they say, RRA is the best bang for your buck.

Arma Lite was the first, in fact "AR-15" was Arma Lite nomenclature. Arma Lite licensed the "AR-15" trademark and design to Colt. Colt won the production contract for the US Military. The AR-15 was designated M16. Colt later developed the M16A1 and A2. Colt also did all developement that led to the M4 and M4A1. Colt redesignated ALL selectfre rifles as "M16"s, and used the "AR-15" trademark, among other names, to denote semi-auto rifles. Arma Lite makes AR type rifles now, but, ironically, cant market them under their own original nomenclature, because they sold the trademark to Colt.

Yeah, but look who asked it.

A member since 2001 and has over 12214 posts.  I find it hard to believe someone could be here that long, and post that much, and not know who Colt is.

Back on topic...

Here's my current favorite, I call it my Parts Gun because most of the parts used came off other builds that I changed and/or just sitting in my junk drawer.

I like this particular gun because I can use it for both accurate shooting and just blasting away.  If I feel like irons, throw the lever on the ACOG and flip up the sights.  If I feel like I want to blow away some peeps (Easter Shoot), I'll put on the bipod and ACOG and force feed those suckers lead.

Stats:
RRA Upper, Lower, BCG, and Stock
Bushie HBAR w/ Phantom
PRI Front Sight, and Gas Block
ARMS BUIS, ACOG Mount, and Bipod Mount
DD 12.0 Rails
