Hello,

I have been looking for a comparison picture with a basic M-16A2 (or A4), 20-inch barrel, beside an M4 with the 14.5-inch barrel, so that the difference in length can be easily seen. I've searched on world.guns.ru but they only have images of each rifle separately, and Google Image search returns mostly Airsoft pictures, so I figured I should ask here.

They don't need to be tactical with all the lights, holosights, vertical forward grips, etc.; I just need a picture so that someone can immediately see the difference between the two styles of rifle.

My thanks for your time.

Hang on. Let me grab the camera and the Ar's.

Here's one stock collapsed all the way. With it out there is a whole lot of difference. I got one more I gotta upload from a different angle.

These are not the real-deal full auto items, but a Colt 20" A2 upper and Colt 14.5" M4 upper none-the-less.  Hope this helps.

After looking at these pictures I never actually realized the size difference between a 20" and a 14.5".....

doesn't appear to be all that much.  May just build a 20"er for my shtf weapon.

There isn't a tremendous difference but it is there. With the stock out there is hardly any difference. With the stock all the way in it is horrible uncomfortable, my arms are too long to bring in close enough to shoulder it comfortably. I usually leave on the 3rd or 4th position when shooting.

Of course you could always put a collapsable stock on a 20".

Many thanks, ManiacRat, that's exactly what I was looking for. Your picture is also good, Molon, the background is a good contrast.

May not look like all that big a difference, but in confined spaces the M4 is quicker on target, something ya might want to consider........
