I would like to purchase a lower with this already inscribed on it, only in its original Greek form.
Also, in the event that I may have to inscribe it myself I would like to see the true form of it. (i.e.)
Is there two omega symbols in molon or is it omicron then omega?

I ask because I've seen it both ways and have wondered wich is correct.
Thanks for any help!

Send a PM or email to likemopar. He does this kind of stuff. From the pictures and comments he's been getting, it must be good.

You're welcome.

thank you, it was driving me crazy.  I even have a pin with MOLON LABE and a pic of an AR on my carbine bag (bought from Life Liberty Ect) and had no idea what it ment.  It's actually a pretty cool meaning, I expected something a little less meaninful

had your same question awhile back, googled around until I found the memorial statue at Thermoplae.
Also wanted the most direct translation of the marker left for the Spartans so that is the big slab in the first pic

Go, stranger, and to Lacedaemon tell
That here, obeying her behests, we fell.

if you want a meaningful translation of MOLON LABE read Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield you'll have a much deeper understanding of what a significant role the phrase played in world history.

I'm thinking thats going to be my next tatoo.  Large letters arching across my shoulder blades, or maybe on my arm.  Going to have to figure that one out.

+1 on "Gates of Fire".  One of my favorite reads.  Excellent book that conveys a true sense of the Spartan ethos.

I thought that the first word  MOLON  had two O's rather than one being the OMEGA symbol... I've always had the impression that the word had two of the SAME character in it not two different characters... Does anyone know for sure.....????? I figured someone added the OMEGA because it looked cooler... Greek text has it as a totally different character of the alphabet.... If the proper spelling is  MOLON LABE and you convert the letters to greek letters two of the characters in the first word should look the same.... correct..????

After several days of battle, the Persians made an offer to the Spartans.  If they laid down their arms, the Persians would incorporate Sparta as an honored part of the Empire.  They could rule themselves as a satrap of the Persian Empire.  King Leonidas gave a curt reply, "Molon Labe".  "Come and get them".  It was a challenge.  If you want them, you'll have to come and take them.   I always put it in the same category as General McAuliffe's reply to the German offer of surrender at Bastogne. "Nuts."

Look back at Tweaks post, that is the memorial that is at the actual site of the battle.

Cool photo but it would have had a little more impact if she wasn't holding a neutered AR

That and the fact that in reality, I doubt even 1% of the 80,000,000 figure would physically resist gun confiscation assuming the US enacted a England\Australian type of gun legislation.

So you think 800,000 armed angry people is something to sneeze at?  Try to remember that there are only about 499,000 active duty troops right now.

Physically resisting would be stupid.  Why not just bury them or otherwise hide them?  Open resistance would be quickly smashed.  Besides, an underground resistance would be so much cooler.  If youre really good you can fieldstrip and hide the parts of a 45 auto in plain sight, either at work or the local tavern.  An AR would be tougher of course.
