Hi, I am planning an M4gery build for the first time. I don't know if I should get a Flat-top A4 with the carry handle, or should I stick with an A2?

No reason not to get the flat-top. Leaves you open for more options down the road.

Get them both. An A3 flattop upper with a detachable carry handle.

+1 Im not big on the look of a scope mounted on top of the carry handle, I'd personly prefer to remove the handle if I choose to add an optic.
