I'm debating between a full bushmaster upper and an armalite upper.

I'm fresh on the boat when it comes to the AR addiction.  Besides a fully assembled lower, fully assembled upper and stock, is there anything else I'm forgetting?

Greatly appreciated.

Go with Bushmaster, however if you do decide to go with Armalite it wont hurt, both manufactures make a superb rifle. If you’re a resident of California you’ll have to comply with their “assault rifle” regulations

The only thing I'm not as stoked with is having to get a vulcan lower.
But its alright, I'll just replace the mag and be good to go.

10 round fixed mag?  Vulcan makes a CA compliant lower?   Why Vulcan instead of FAB-10?

eh, really don't think I'd like the feel of the unusual fab10 lower.
That grips' just too strange.

I think the stock must be in a fixed position in California, not sure

fab10 makes a std ar15 lower that is ca compliant, no magwell but with std grip. you are referring to that wire they offer as a grip for during the "awb" for those that could, you could put a banned item in place of the protruding pistol grip
