I'm checking out differant angles for building a 9MM AR..I've seen the " 9MM conversion kits" available but was wondering if the 9MM lower internals, hammer etc. would work with a 5.56 upper. I guess what i'm looking for is the information for a built with the least amount of trouble to change caliber uppers. My ideal build would be pushing two take down pins, removing mag well, and installing 5.56 upper. In the real world is this possible? Any replies will be greatly appreciated. If you have any of the parts needed for sale feel free to email me.

My Olympic-Pattern carbine is setup like that. Pop the pins, hit mag release to drop the 9mm Magwell block, and slap on a 5.56 upper. The Colt/RRA System requires special milling on the bolt carrier or the infamous stub 9mm hammer, though.

Did you purchase this as a complete setup or is it something you built. That's what i'm looking for though. Thanks a 1,000,000

Built it. Check out the Pistol/Rimfire caliber AR15 section here and read the 9mm AR FAQ. Explains everything you need to know!
