I thought a Harris bipod might be a good idea to bolt to the rail I am getting for my SEBR which should arrive soon.

Well turns out there isn't "a" Harris bipod, there are quite a few different models.

Can anyone recommend the model they are using on their M4gery, pics would be very welcome.

Do I understandcorrectly that out of the box they won't attach to a Picatinny rail and that some adapter is required?

I also see that they have static v swivel models - any recommendations on that?

And finally, who is doing the best price on them?

I just bought a series 1A2 Model L --- its 9" to (I think) 13" --- from a local sporting goods store (Sportsman's Warehouse) out the door for under $70.00.

I thought I needed a swivel, but after shooting a cheapie (Rock... something) from Wally World (only $40.00 and change out the door) ---- I decided I didn't really need a swivel.

Hope this "it worked for me"   ---- helps.

BR-MS w/ podloc is the best all around choice. You have the swivel feature but also the ability to lock it into a fixed position. The 6 - 9 height is more then enough for me. 9 - 13 was a little too tall for my needs.
YMMV

Actually I have the swivel model with the leg notches and a podloc on the way. They are nice that is for sure!

+1, having options is never a liabilty.  One can even use one leg extended down as a vertical handgrip just in case.  For us lefties, it is ambidextrous (=can miss equally well with either hand).
