I'm a noob to AR's and bought an Olympic Arms plinker the other night. I took it to the range last night and was very pleased with it's performance. I'm interested it different upper halves and was wondering if any upper half would fit this gun. I was looking at the RRA 24" Varmint EOP and the RRA 24" Varmint A4 upper halves. Not sure what the difference is in these two but they were the first ones that caught my eye. I want something along these lines that I can just switch off and shoot longer ranges. Will either of these uppers fit my OLY? If not any suggestions? Thank you.

Yes, either upper will fit without any problem.

MAYBE,  oly arms isn't exactly known to be in spec.  if another upper is too tight to get the push pins in you may have to ream the holes of the upper a bit with a drill bit.  if it is too loose, you glue a pencil eraser in the back of the lower receiver just in front of the buffer tube.

I'm unaware of any recent problems with the OA series being too tight.  I've never heard of them being too loose.

As with any combination, there is always a possibility that the tolerances will be off a little, but I don't hear any complaints when its RRA that has pins that need to be pounded in.  I don't see a tight fit as a big deal, as long as it goes together, it will loosen up as it is fired.
