I can't seem to get my buffer out. I depress the retainer and it slides partially out but then the spring coils get caught on the retainer. Also, when the buffer is sliding out it is blocked from moving any further by the hammer.

Push down on the hammer with your thumb and slide the buffer clear. After that, a little wiggle should get the spring clear of the retaining pin.....Whole process should be rather easy.

cock the hammer with safe on.

wiggle the spring out after you depress the retainer, a bit tricky but its just needs a bit of persuasion
