I purchased a Hogue hand grip to replace my Standard AR hand grip. Compared to standard AR grip, Hogue grip fits loose over the lower receiver without screwing in. It is not as tight fit as the standard one. Is this normal or I have a bad Hogue grip? Any Hogue grip users out there? Thanks BTZ28 |

I replaced the OEM Colt grip on mine years ago. The Hogue is as tight and well fitting as the original Colt one. I used the OEM Colt screw and washer. You may want to use a slightly thicker washer. http://www.hogueinc.com/getgrip/prodimg/15000L.jpg |
It is a Bushmaster lower. The lower is not out of spec because a stock grip fits tight and there is no movement. With Hogue grip there is very little side to side movement. I think Hogue grip has wider opening than a standard hand grip. |
I have not put the lower receiver together yet. I was just checking the overall fitment. It is a Bushmaster lower. I had the same problem...nothing a dremel can't fix. I traded my ergo grip for the hogue, and I am very pleased. Loved the tactile feel of the ergo grip, but hated how it narrowed toward the bottom. |

I think your problem will go away when you put the screw in and tighten it down. No need to worry. I bought 2 Hogues for my first 2 AR's, and then bought an ERGO at a gunshow. The Hogues were as small as the A2 grip and the ERGO was small at the bottom. My problems are solved with the Magpul MIAD I have on my mid-length right now. It is great, but a little too expensive for me to go out and get 3 more to outfit my other 3 AR's. WIZZO |
