Well after a couple of weeks of lurking and researching on this site I purchased my first AR. It's a Bushmaster A3 20" HBAR with the full A2 stock (screw the Koolaid). I've only been able to shoot it a few times out at our farm and I've gotten it pretty much sighted in. I'll get it fine tuned on a bench rest one of these days. Its gonna take some time to get used to the iron sights and the grip/trigger combination, I'm used to scoped rifles. This is one of the best informational sites on the Web and I have learned a lot in just a couple of weeks. My Dad used to have an older Colt AR-15 with the triangular forearm but he traded it on a deer rifle for me back when I first started deer hunting. A bad idea IMHO but his intentions were good. Well thanks for all the info and I look forward to learning more about AR's from the experts at AR15.com. Here's a picture of my new toy: http://www.filehigh.com/serve/7477/56362.jpg |

The Black Rifle bug has yet another victim.... next thing you know, you will be buying stripped lowers, mags, ammo, and all sorts of stuff. ![]() Them iron sights will make you a better rifleman. I will double dare you to go shoot a match w/ it. I think that a service rilfle match will show what the gun is capable of - the other end of the spectrum is the CQB stuff. Welcome. Later, Badredfish
