I was wondering what double and single action triggers people like.  I want something nice and crisp but not a fragile match trigger.

I've tried the Bushie DCM model trigger and am not sure I like it.  Thinking about, say, ordering a lower from Fulton Armory with a nice two stage built in for me.

Thanks!

I've heard good things about Chip McCormick drop-in trigger kits and RRA 2-Stage National Match triggers.

I have 2 - RRA NM triggers (1 in a colt 6920 ,1 in a build) and find them very reliable.

I like my JP Enterprises single stage very much. You can install it yourself and it feels great.

I bought the overpriced Armalite trigger.  It took about 400 rounds for the grittiness to get out of the first stage.  Works great.  Pleased with the break and its repeatability.  I will probably overpay for another.  Maybe a tuned RRA.

The RRA is a solid performer and very affordable.  Definitely the bang-for-the-buck winner!  However, I like the JARD fully adjustable trigger better, simply because I can adjust it for minimal take up, ZERO overtravel and dangerously minimal reset.   (Or you can set it to your own prefences.)  It's a bit more money and is a bit more work to install (because of the adjusting process).  It probably has the best feel of any trigger I currently shoot.  But my favorite is the McCormick drop in unit, specifically the flat one.  A lot more money than the RRA but the easiest to install.  The real draw to me is the shape of and position of the trigger itself.  Way more comfy than the typical trigger, IMO.  Especially when using a slim grip like the tango down units.  Nice feel too, almost on par with my JARD.  Sorry, I can't offer any info on the Accuracy Speaks trigger but I've heard good things about them.  Cost almost twice the RRA unit though.  I should be getting a JP trigger pretty soon so maybe I can throw some more feedback this way after installing it.  You can use a stock hammer with it to keep the cost down or pony-up for their speed hammer for the complete package if you have the extra $.

No such thing as double action triggers in an AR.  KAC is the most crisp and reliable 2 stage.  Other than that I like Accuracy Speaks for single stage.

Have a RRA NM and I love it. Cannot compare to others though. I will be getting another for a long AR build. I would not be opposed to others, this is just what I know I do like!

I've had a JP for about 6 years now and have zero complaints.  Shot about 5K with no problems.  Breaks on my scale at about 2.7-3 lbs.

I have 2 RRA NM FCG's and am very pleased with them.  I have not tried the others mentioned but for the money the RRA are a good buy.

I've had RRA NM triggers and they are pretty good but not in the same league with the CM and JP triggers. I have a JP single stage in one AR and a CM 2 stage in another. They are completely different yet i love both of them. For a tactical rifle, I would suggest a 2 stage and for a precision rifle the single stage.

I have ARs with Jard, McCormick, JP, and Jewell triggers.  I like the JP and Jewell the best, but I just put together a Superior Arms lower with a standard DPMS FCG and I installed an allen head plug in the extra hole next to the grip screw hole to adjust the take up on the trigger, and it turned out very nice.  Not quite a match trigger but probably the best bang for the buck.  Nearly as clean and crisp, but a little heavier.  I think this is the route I will go from now on,  I may even install something to adjust the overtravel, and/or install a lighter hammer spring.   I think Brownells sells a grip screw with a smaller screw inside it that works the same, but can be installed in any lower.

1. A CMT or Bushmaster trigger group.
2. The discontinued Colt match trigger as provided in the Colt CAR-A3 HBAR Elite
3. A properly fitted Accuracy Speaks.
