I ordered a First Samco G-27 grip for my AR Thursday October 13. Today is October the 21 and still no part so I decided to give DPMS a call and check on my order status, they told me my part is still there and they "MIGHT" ship it out Monday, that would make 13 days it took DPMS to ship out my goods and for me to receive it, so not only does their rifles suck but their customer services takes the cake. Steer clear from DPMS all together.

First Samco=You're probably better off without it

I try to buy things from the Dealers on the EE.  Buying direct from a manufacturer always seems to take forever...

By shopping the EE you can easily find out if it's in stock, and their reputations for fast shipping, customer service etc.

I've had good experience with the DPMS products I've owned.

I had a displeasant order experience as well.  Their free shipping is nice, but it took 'em 3 friggin' days before they got it out THEIR doors.  AND oe of the products was backordered and they never told me.  I just didn't get it.  I waited about 2 weeks to get a flashhider and a peel washer.  GHEY.

I DO love their products, just not their shipping area.

Actually their rifles dont stuck. I train on the same grounds as several PD's that stock nothing but DPMS and I've never seen one give an operator trouble. Every company at some point has an issue with shipping times. Bitching about it here isnt going to fix it. Sort it out with DPMS, they will take care of you. Go to  their forum if you are that fired up

But whatever.

My DPMS works very well and in fact I use it for High Power League.

Very very well built weapon which I could not part with.

I guess I was thinking of the railed handguards-blech-not sure I actually know anyone using that grip.

They have taken steps to make their website easier to navigate. It used to be pretty bad.

This has been my experience when orderering direct from many of the AR manufactures.... For example, my order with Bushmaster was placed over a month ago and still waiting.  The bigger manufactures are backed up with manufacturing and filling large wholesale parts orders as that is their main business, not retail sales,  so most are not setup for efficient retail sales and they ship in the order that they come in.  There could be hundreds of orders ahead of you.
If you purchase parts from a smaller online dealer or other source like Gunbroker and from companies that state they ship same day, you will get it in a few days.   These smaller companies are in the business of retail and most are very fast at shipping small orders out.

I ordered a cheekpiece from Bushmaster and had it within three business days. I tried to order a Panther flash hider from my AR and about three weeks later I called them and DPMS informed me it was out off stick and on back order and as said before they didn’t even bother to mention it to me until I called. DPMS will never get another penny out of me.

I don't agree with the whole "rifles suck" comment but the shipping SUX BIG TIME!!! I ordered a front sight post and a keychain and it took 2 weeks to arrive. To top it off, they told me that the keychain was discontinued AFTER my order arrived! I hope I don't have to ever send it back for Warranty repair

Nothing wrong with my rifle either, their shipping can be slow somtimes, but they are backed up with huge orders and still trying to catch up with some older orders. sorry to say, but your grip or my 3rd mag is not their top priority when people are waiting on their rifles. I also think they are a smaller bussiness with less workers to cut overhead, one way to sell rifles at a better price, they have more bussiness then they can handle right now, but they are trying their best. Calm down, your gun still shoots with the grip it has, your new one will get there in time.

They have been absloutly slamed.

Talking to Jeff at CMMG, DPMS has alot big rifle orders(50+ rifles and assoiries) lately.
They have even been buying little parts from CMMG

The thing that kills that grip is it's hard plastic.  If it was rubberized like hogue it would be tits

nah...I hate rubber grips....they get caught up in my clothing when I'm running drills or taking a carbine class.  I once thought those Hogue grips were the cat's ass till I had to actually use it.

But to each his own.  Some probably swear by them.

i made a order from their site and it took about a month to get it. i called 2 weeks into it and asked about it and they just got the part back from mashineing and it would ship tomorrow.. so i wait another 2 weeks and was about to call them up again then i got a usps click n ship email. part came 3 days after that i just wish they would keep you posted better on the status of your order... maybe a email saying its backordered or something.

That's what I call customer service.

A good manufacture should have the same attitude toward all its customers, we  have seen what happened when Colt decided to label us “civilians” and totally ignore us, DPMS better take note of Colts mistake and hire more people to serve its paying customers accordingly.

For what its worth, it took RRA 7 days to ship out (as in leave their door) parts that they had in stock.  DPMS seems to ship in 3-4.  But RRA walks on water, so it must have been somebody elses fault.

One thing I have learned is to NOT got direct to the maker. Go to EE and the fine dealers here on ARFCOM. Many like CMMG, MSTN, Bravo Co., Legal Transfers, ect. will get you what you want fast. Great CS and prices too. DPMS makes good stuff. The CS of their web sales may suck but not the stuff they sell.

Well gentlemen the G-27 is scheduled to arrive today, its been 15 long long days but today it will finely pay off, the first and certainly not the last modification to the AR15, today is a good day for me.
Now if I can get my hands on a digital camera and post some pics for you guys

I'll add my $0.02.

I order small parts from DPMS all the time, from hammers to Wolff springs and I get them fast all the time.

FWIW, YMMV.....................
