| I just got my hands on a work of art. It is a Colt AR15A2 sporter 2 never fired all orginal, one owner. It was bought new in 1987 . It is a large front pivot, with no sear block . It does have an A1 upper reciever. Is this common for this rifle? Is this one of those transitional rifles between the A1 and A2. Should I leave this rifle unfired? |
If yours is as beautiful as this one is, you have quite a find, buell37. Congratulations! |
Interesting, so it's true so far only rifles that ever had a black buffer with orange tip were found in Sporter II's (in theory), not all Sporter II's had those type of buffers. A NIB Colt Sporter II wouldn't mean much to the "I can buy a Bushmaster for $750" crowd, but to a semi-serious Colt collector, I would reckon $1200-$1300. That's just my opinion. ETA: how close is "just like the one" I posted? Is your forward assist plunger a clipped round circular type or the tear drop type, on the button part? |
