I have the BATTlegrip on my AR...has the MIAD any advantage in gripping surface?
Is the texture at the MIAD better?

I have both the Magpul MIAD and the TD Battlegrip.

I just got my Battlegrip which was factory installed on my LMT carbine.

Both textures in both grips seems good to me.

The main difference is the size of the grip. The Battlegrip is smaller compared to the MIAD.

I would recommend the Battlegrip to anyone with smaller hands or prefer a shorter trigger reach and the MIAD to anyone with avarage to large hands.

I like them both and I'm very satisfied with their quality.

I've got a couple of each. My prefference is by far with the MIAD. Not a thing wrong with the TD, heck, not a thing wrong with the standard grip. But the MIAD's texture is very rough, and if you put the grip tape on the smooth grip, its even better. MIAD's can be customized to fit each persons hand more and has the same or more storage options.

I much prefer the MIAD, I have tried most of the grips out there and now all my rifles have the MIAD on them

I prefer the MIAD over the Battlegrip.  The Battlegrip has kind of a narrow neck

Unless you have little tiny hands, avoid the Magpul.

MIAD grip size isn't a problem for this guy and he's 8.

That even has the larger backstrap in.

Same grip shooter is 11.

The 8 year old was not able to access the safety from the firing hand, the 11 year old could.  Although the MIAD is thicker than the battlegrip, it doesn't seem to make much difference in practice.
