I have a bushmaster M4 with 14.5" barrel w/ Izzy Flash Suppressor w/ the bayonet lug. Now I have read the other posts and it looks like the M9 is made for the 14.5" barrels but I can't find any documentation to support this. Now I believe that if you have a 16" barrel you have to buy the older bayonets, but the M9 should fit mine just fine.

Am I correct in stating this?

All mil-spec M16/M4 bayonets will fit the 14.5" barrels.

Bayonets will 'properly' mount on 14.5" and 20" barrels.

yes you are correct, but there are custom versions of the bayonet that will fit today's 16" barrels

They aren't .mil-spec, but then again neither is the 16" barrel

Here's Prebanarms/Cuzco's modified M9 on a 16" M4 barrel.

You can also get a clamp type bayonet mount form DMPS.

ahhhh,
too late, I got one off ebay for $60 brand new. black on black, at least that is what the picture is. nothing in the description about color. it better be or I will be pissed.
