Does this Flash hider/ Suppressor attachment have to be permenantly installed on ALL length barrels, or just the 14.5 inchers?

Has anyone had a permenantly installed one come loose, or had any other problems with it?  If so, did Gemtech install it, or someone else?

And lastly, anyone have some pics of this Bi-lock installed on a 14.5 inch barrel that they can post?

Thanks guys!

Bi-Lock can be installed on any barrel as long as the barrel is threaded with 1/2x28R.  this is bascially all Ar15 barrels in 5.56 chambering.

Bi-lock once installed permentaly will not come loose.  I had one and it stay on very well.

GemTech will install the bi-lock for you but it is a involved process.  They will make sure the bi-lock on the gun with laser precision. since in case you mount their can, you won't have a problem in the long run.

hope this helps.

I don't think you will find horror story, there isn't really anything that can go wrong with a solid machined piece...

as longas you took the proper steps to install the hider, yopu should be fine....

That's a bilock in SMGLee's pic...

IIRC, when Gemtech installs the bilock on a 16" barrel, they loctite it. Obviously they weld it on 14.5's unless you have an SBR and request otherwise.

I've got a bi-lock on three ARs of various lengths and a Thompson Center carbine.  No problems ever.  Of course, I sent them all back to Gemtech to install and do it right.

It's just a good product that works.  Period.

SUPPRESSOR MODELS

M4-96D and TPR-S

...cut to section 4...

SECTION IV: ATTACHMENT OF BI-LOCK TO WEAPON

4.1 Be certain all parts to be joined are completely degreased. Place the previously manfactured steel spacers inside the Bi-Lock (HK and Ruger) or on the barrel (Colt). Place 2-3 drops of Flexbar Rocksett Ceramic Adhesive on the threads.

4.2 Rocksett Ceramic Adhesive will with stand temperatures up to 1,100 degC  (approximately 2,000 degF) without breaking down.  No epoxy or Locktite product will withstand these temperature extremes...

4.3 ...you can remove the Bilock for about 5 minutes, after which removal becomes exceptionally difficult.  If removed, actetone will help in cleanup.
