After doing some re-barreling and rifle building I noticed the following: On my M4gery’s barrel when mounting the A2 FH with the A2 style crush washer there is a gap between the barrels crown and the inside of the FH. Same goes for my light weight CAR build with A1 FH and A1 lock washer. Can’t remember from my Army days having paid attention to this on my weapons. I do not recall if the FH sat fairly flush against the barrel or if there was a slight space between. Is this standard or are my FH’s needing to be screwed down more? I have them torqued and timed perfect especially the A1. |
Yea that's what I thought, seems pretty self explanatory. When you’ve been on the range all day qualifying and it’s time to go home all you care about standing in line at the Arms Room is the Armorer accepting your weapon! Never paid too much attention to the FH to barrel gap!!! Plus were talking 13 years ago since I ETS’d!!! |
