Okay, this MAY sound a bit like a no-brainer to some, but I've never had this done before:
I want to have my smith thread the barrel on my Colt HBAR for the addition of a compensator. I saw a compensator that needed 1/2 x 28 thread. My question: Is this a common thread size so if I change my mind and want to try another style compensator in the future...I can?
Thanks in advance for suppression of the giggles.

1/2 x 28 is the standard size for AR's. So you'll have no problem finding a plethora of different muzzle devises with this thread size.

But it's not a standard size for bolts at the hardware store.

Thanks...looks like I'm getting a new muzzle brake.
