I'm moving my Loopy 1" tube 3.5x10x40 tactical, target turret, mil-dot glass to my Colt HBAR and need some suggestions and pictures if available... Will this suffice as an adequate scope for plinking, benchrest shooting, coyote dogs etc out to say 300 yards on an AR? Now for the stupid part. If I remove the carry handle, is that's what is referred to as a 'flat-top' or A4?????? (It's got the mil-spec rail holding it down) I've read about the Badger rings. How HIGH do I need if I go that route? Are there other ring 'favorites' out there, what model, p/n etc? Money is always an issue. Any close ups pics? Will the FSB be in the sight picture of any of your recommendations? Thx- ~sss ETA: I will be removing the carry handle. No interest in mounting TO it. |
| I use an Armalite 1 piece 1" scope mount. To use this setup you will have to remove your carry handle. This setup gets the scope forward so you have good eye relief. It sits the optic LOW, which I like. It will still accomodate a 50mm scope. The mount is only $75 and it has great return to zero. I don't have pics yet, but I have a Leupold VXII 4-12x40AO mounted to a RRA NM A4 and it works great. The FSB is not in the way at all as long as you keep the magnification 4x or higher. The scope you have should be adequate for your needs. MJD |
