I have a RRA M4gery w/ chrome lined barrel and it is by far the best AR I have ever had.  I was all set to buy a standard A2 from RRA but I just realized it does not have the same .223/5.56 chamber my M4gery has but instead has a .223 Wylde chamber.  Can I shoot 5.56 out of that?  I wonder if I could get one with a 5.56 chamber like all of their carbine setups have.  Kinda dissapointing.

From the RRA Catalog #8:

The .223 Wylde chamber was designed as a match chambering for semi-automatic rifles.  It will accomodate both .223 Remington and 5.56mm NATO ammunition.  It is relieved in the case body to aid in extraction and features a shorter throat for improved accuracy.

I do it all the time.

I too love my RRA. I just have the basic 16'' CAR with no chrome lining. Still a great rifle. I think a 20'' A2 is my next upper.

Yes, you can safely shoot either .223 or 5.56 in RRA guns with the Wylde chamber.

5.56 is pretty accurate in my RRA 20"
