Is there any way i can figure from the markings ( B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9) if this barrel is chrome lined?  Its on a buddys rifle he is selling, he dont know and i cant "see it" as its out of state etc.

Thanks for any/all help.

With a clean barrel you should be able to look into the chamber or the muzzle a see the silver chrome coating.

B= Bushmaster

MP= Metal Partical Tested

Generally speaking .........Chrome Bore would be stamped   "CB" or  "CHROMED BORE"

Chromed Chamber  would be stamped "C"

Marufacturer stamps are defined here:

Like you said it's Bushy so unless its a DCM bbl which its not, or a SS bbl which it's not it's 4150 steel w/ chrome lining.

Bear in mind that Bushmaster didn't have chrome-lined barrels all of the time. I forget when but it I THINK it was in 1996(?) that they made it as standard, up until that point Bushmaster had either a regular carbon steel barrel or for $50 a chrome-lined barrel an extra cost option. I would contact Bushmaster and find out the particulars.

It could be an older bbl but I think their stampings were different back then. I have a brand new Bushy with the exact same markings on my bbl.

forgot to add, this is on a Fulton Armory CAR type,  supposedly not a kit build but complete rifle direct from Fulton.

Bushmaster deos not use C or CB markings.  They are ALL chrome lined unless they are the match barrels which that is not.
