[ARCHIVED THREAD] - which should i get

Im new into AR15's, im not sure which brand i really should get... I want to keep it under 800, but i want a really good AR... Im thinkin of bushmaster or colt, I not sure either cause of the prices they are... I do want to take it hunting for deer, but can i get a upper for a decent price to change it into the right Cal? because i do want to go to matches with it...

I have two Colts and two Bushmasters, they are both fine weapons. You will spend more for a Colt and the availability of them may be an issue. Be sure to define the task you want the gun to be able to perform and then get the configuration that will be best suited for that task. I don't think you could go wrong with either brand. either is top quality w/ the best parts available for the cash

h/w, if money is tight, you are better off getting a varmiter upper (RRA) and an LMT M4 upper
