Who makes Bushmaster's uppers and lowers? Third party or is it done internally?

Bushmaster makes it's own barrels and just like Colt they contract the manufacturing of the recievers from the same manufacturers that Colt uses.

Bushmaster does not buy parts rejected by Colt and I doubt the reverse is true either.

Over rhe years I've owned a number of Colts from Pre-ban SP101's to post-ban models.

Eventually I traded up to Bushmaster.

I thought Lxxx lowers were made by LMT, BFIxxxx lowers were made in house.

Yup - the lowers definitely used to made by someone else (LAR, or LMT or sometone like that), and now they are made inhouse by Bushmaster themselves.

Don't know if the upper part of the receiver itself is still made by someone else, or if that is now in-house too.

Both my Bushmasters have serial numbers that begin with L. Safe bet to assume it is LMT or Lauer then?

There are zero markings on the upper. So I gather there is no way to determine its origin.

LAR was making the Lxxxxx ones.
BFI ones are in-house I think.

I remember hearing a while back that LAR makes some of bushmasters lowers. It was a thread regarding LAR quality.
