I cannot recall reading this anywhere but I would like to make an inference and you tell me if it has any basis for justification.

In a collapsible stock, the spring is shorter and consequently tighter - therefore, the cycle rate and carrier-to-buffer resistance is increased, correct?

Also, the shorter distance that the gas has to travel in order to move the bolt due to the shorter gas tube should increase the cycle rate as well - correct?
