This one.

GRAYISH-BLACK Flat
Dark gray-black coloration with a flat appearance. This duplicates the appearance of the early original Colt AR-15/M-16 finish. This is the same product that is purchased from us by the U.S. Military to refinish Colt M-16's.

8oz will be more than enough.

Right, but does'nt Norrell's have a color that matches that ?  Or is the grayish-black flat more like the early SP1 color?

I did some research on doing it you self refinishing.
This is what I was told will match the Colt finish for 89-94 yr Colts.
I didn’t use it because I picked up a Colt Sporter lower that matched the Colt M16A1 upper perfectly.
If some body wants the kit im me.

OD Gray/Green by KG is basically an exact match

Check out my pics in HERE in Build it yourself forum.

The rear sight pieces, charging handle and ejection port cover were all "modern" black until I used Norrell's Grayish-Black Flat on them. Looks like a close enough match to me. And it's really very easy to apply.

Thanks. I'm really pleased how the whole thing turned out. It's a hella' lot more fun to shoot than that cursed 20" HBAR it started out as.

If you DID want to get some Sandstrom 9A, you can find it here (second product on the page, called "9A AS5272Type II").

I have the Norrell's mixed in custom semi gloss gray-black and the color is dead on but with a slight sheen. If you follow the instructions to the T and prep is the key, you will have no problems with it. I have refinished a couple rifles and 1911s without one problem.
