| Anyone know where I can find a M16 chrome bolt carrier group with the firing pin shroud (not DPMS) |
| Smith Enterprises makes them. For some reason they are'nt on their website right now though. Maybe give them a call? |

I have a Smith Enterprises chrome carrier, it is the AR15 model with a full circle rear, but it does not have a shrouded firing pin. Maybe the M16 model does, not sure. But it's a very cool carrier. I also have a Young MFG chrome carrier, it does have the shrouded firing pin and full circle rear. It's also very cool. If I had to pick one over the other, it would be the Young MFG carrier because the machining is a little better. Can't go wrong with either though. But I would definitely go with a Colt bolt. Hands down none better. Hope this helps. |
| M4bangr, where did you get your young MFG carrier? I think I found one at SOG Armory but they have some crap about M16 carriers being illegal in AR15's and they won't sell without an "M16 permit". I'm not looking for full auto I just want the added reliability of the extra weight with the M16 bolt and I know full well it's perfectly legal |

Del-ton Del-Ton has the chromed carriers, as well as titanium nitride carriers. |
| I think Del-Ton carries the DMPS carrier if I'm not mistaken and I'm really trying to avoid the DMPS carrier. I went into the local gun store and look at a DPMS carrier and it looks like my 5 year old made it with a chisel and hammer. I mean there were tool marks all over the thing and I’m not so sure about how durable the finish is. |
I think you are right about Del-Ton and DPMS. I haven't heard too many good things about chrome DPMS stuff, although I'm sure many people out there have them. |
