I am coming into some cash and told my bride I want the Govt. Model RRA because I'd get it and not have to go purchase accessories, as it's done....

Anyone have opinions on it? I'm an FFL so I get it less than the MSRP of $2250

I posted this in GD and got little response.

Not have to purchase accessories?? That's crazy talk. There is always something you can buy.

Personally I think the RRA Gov't is over priced and overrated. I think you would be happeir putting one together that fits your needs plus you will save some cash to buy more ammo and "accessories."

my .02 cents

Well there was just a run-down of all the parts that they offer with it, and if you bought everything off dealers in the industry section, or the EE, It would total just a tad under $2000. Looking at the prices people were using in that thread, you could easily get a Gov't model clone for closer to $1500 if you're patient and look for great deals.

BTW, what is dealer cost on one of those buggers?

It's kind of funny. I quote rifles and pistols for people all the time. Now and then I get someone that wants me to go ahead and order for them.

Most Arfcommers and the like have access to Shotgun News or The Gun List and don't understand why us greedy FFL's charge more than the prices shown in SGN. They tend to forget what it takes, financially, to maintain a business and how little profit 20 - 30% margins really bring to the table.

So, that keeps me from quoting my price on most anything.

Hint: Used firearmss and new accessories are the most profitable for FFL's. IMHO

The only thing about buying a "package deal"is that you get what the mfg wants you to have, where as if you start with a basic rifle, you can choose your optional equipment.
