I bought this upper at a gun show, but it has no name on it anywhere. Only this marque. It has a flat top. Does anyone know who made it? Thanks! http://users4.ev1.net/~estate/guns/upper-id.jpg |

If it has a "C" along with it, it could be Colt. By itself, it could be Bushmaster, RRA or DPMS. It could be anybody's, for that matter. It could be a one time, personal custom finish by Joe's Machine and Tool. The only thing that that forging mark tells you is where the raw forging came from - Cerro Fabricated Products. They sell raw forgings to all the manufacturers, who then finish them in house or sub them out to be finished. |
That's pretty much the truth of the AR world today. It is very hard to identify the origin of most of the stuff out there today, unless it comes direct from the manufacturer. |

JThomas, I have the same question as you do. I bought an upper with that same stamp on it, and have been trying to ID it ever since. Does yours have the 556 stamped right after the front sight? If so the closes I've come to Identfying the upper was it has the same barrel markings as a Olympic Arms barrel. Hope that helpshis What barrel is on my Oly firearm, or is the barrel on my gun made by OlyArms? |

It's made by Cerro products and is quite common.I think they sell to Bushmaster among others. I have had a few AR'S with the keyhole forge mark. www.cerrofabricated.com/products_firearm.htm |
