How many return the handle to the upper before dropping the bolt?

Every once in awhile. The Damn M&A parts upper is showing a little more wear than I want it to after only 1800 or so rds, so I tend to do the procedure you describe more often now.

If I understand your question correctly, all of us should.

Either charge the weapon by racking the charging handle to the rear, and letting it fly out of your hand, or if the bolt is locked to the rear, the charging handle is forward and the bolt catch is slapped.

If you are asking if people lock the handle to the rear, and then release the bolt with the handle still all the way back, only the stupid people would be doing this.
