Can you guys give me some insight on the various stocks out there.

I've got a Bushmaster A3.  I really don't like the cheap plastic stock they ship on these things.  However, I'd like a stock that has multiple positions.  I just want something stronger.

Thanks ahead!

Have you looked at WA Tom's XM607 buttstock? Feels like shooting either an A1 or "stubby" stock; depending on whether it is extended or collapsed. Hope this info helps.

So.

He still wouldn't break if he stomped on it (barring the possibility that he weighs 500 lbs)

They're supposed to be stronger than the collapsibles.

It's the A3 six position collapsible stock.  I saw several other guns at the gun show last weekend that were cracked.  All you have to do is drop it just right and you'll get a crack in it.  I've seen it on more than one gun, that's all I need.

The LMT/SOPMOD stock which is a great choice. It is much like the original stock, only much more substantial, has battery or other goodie storage, and offers cheek-weld like no other.

Check them out with some of the companies listed in the Equipment Exchange.

Not cheap, but worth every dime, IMHO
